Bail

Bail amphora with a twisted handle, and a hole to be suspended, in its center. With an ovoid body, its main figurative decoration is, on one side a female head turned to the right with an earring and necklace made of white paint, and, on the other side, an ephebe wrapped in a voluminous cloak. The decoration is interspersed with two small palms.  Having a concave profile neck and a flared brim, this amphora ends with a low conical base.

This work of art was checked by the “Carabinieri” (Italian police corp) Cultural Heritage Protection Unit of Florence, and was of legitimate origin, thus obtaining the authorization for sale by the Archaeological, Fine Arts, and Landscape Superintendence for the metropolitan city of Florence and the provinces of Pistoia and Prato.

Although not subject to a protection obligation by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, it cannot be exported outside the Italian national territory.
